Background
In the Background tab, you can set the background color and transparency, canvas size, padding, and outline for all elements in the whole design. To place an image from your device, use “Add image” in the add menu.
What you can do on this page
You can choose a solid color or gradient for the overall background color, and adjust background transparency, outline for all elements, the size of the whole design, and padding when fitting to content.
Operating procedure
-
Open the “Background” tab
Click “Background” in the editing panel. Background settings for the whole design appear.
-
Choose the background color
In “Background color,” choose a solid color or gradient, then specify the color from the color palette.
-
Decide whether to make the background transparent
Turn on “Transparent background” to show the transparency slider. PNG keeps the transparency, while JPEG uses a white background.
-
Decide whether to outline everything
To outline text, materials, and images together, turn on “Add an outline to all elements” and adjust the outline color and thickness. Lock elements in the Layers tab if you do not want an outline on them.
-
Choose the canvas size
Choose “Fit to content” or “Set size.” Fit to content automatically adjusts the design size to match the text, materials, images, and decorations. Set size lets you choose a purpose-based size from Recommended, Social, Print & goods, or Custom.
-
Adjust the padding
When fitting to content, use the “Padding” slider to adjust the outer padding. Switch between All, Top, Right, Bottom, and Left to change only the needed side.

Check points
- The Background tab does not have an operation for directly setting an image from your device.
- To place an image in the design, use “Add image” from the add menu.
- To make the background transparent, turn on Transparent background and choose PNG when exporting.
- To exclude only some elements from the overall outline, lock those elements in the Layers tab.
- With “Fit to content,” increasing the padding makes the outside area of the whole design larger.
- When creating for print or stickers, choosing L-size, 2L-size, square, and similar options from “Print & goods” makes photo print and goods ratios easier to use.
When you are in trouble
If a background that should be transparent looks white, check whether you exported as JPEG. To lay an image down like a background, place an image layer with “Add image,” then move it backward from the Layers tab.
